This release underscores LGND’s commitment to being an open, multi-model platform. We believe that solving global challenges requires a diversity of perspectives, sensors and models. The Alpha Earth Foundation model distills a year’s worth of earth observation, across many sensors, into a compact, 64-integer embedding. That makes it a great choice for quickly assessing long-term environmental processes, like plant phenology, critical for identifying crop types. 

LGND’s AEF database is queryable from the same API endpoint as other hosted models, like Clay. We’ve also engineered AEF to be interoperable with our existing Clay embeddings, scaling the native 10-meter resolution to any user-specified chip size. This means researchers and developers can now benchmark, fuse, or migrate workflows between AEF and Clay.
