We’re making Earth understandable for people and AI
The Earth Like You’ve Never Seen It.
LLMs can tell you a lot about the world we live in. After all, they’ve read everything. But if you want to truly understand the planet, you have to see it.
That’s why LGND harnesses geospatial embeddings and Earth observation models trained on satellite and aerial imagery to turn billions of images into a living record of Earth.
The result: datasets you can query across space and time in intuitive ways — through chats, maps, and APIs. Because exploring the planet should feel like discovery, not data entry.
Our Story
Founded in 2024 by the makers of Clay, LGND makes Earth data flexible, scalable, and actionable for businesses, developers, and AI systems.
We’ve built infrastructure that delivers planet-scale datasets faster and more affordably than traditional pixel-by-pixel approaches. At its core, LGND turns satellite imagery into embeddings — compact, searchable representations that make Earth data easier to use, interpret, and share.
Who We Are
With backgrounds at NASA, Google, World Bank, and Mapbox, our team combines deep expertise in AI and geospatial science with a simple goal: to give organizations, developers, and curious explorers the tools to understand what’s happening on Earth.
Our team brings deep experience in geospatial, data, science, and AI.
